Runner's High: How Your Endocannabinoid System Asks for Movement

The first scientific experiment of its kind from 2003 monitored a group of 24 runners during various activities. After three-quarters of an hour of intense movement, anandamide levels in the blood rose dramatically. A 2013 study by a team of biologists discovered a key connection: endocannabinoids are only released at optimal intensity.

Duration: 30-50 minutes of continuous movement. Pulse: 70-80% of your maximum. Intensity: you feel the effort but can still talk. Activity: running, cycling, brisk walking, swimming.

Support Beyond Running

Beta-caryophyllene (BCP) is one of the most interesting options. This terpene compound, found for example in black pepper, oregano, or cannabis, directly activates CB2 receptors of your endocannabinoid system. The combination of regular running with BCP support can significantly improve your ECS function.
